My story

[p]Hi everyone and thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page. As I'm sure you are aware by now I'm running the London marathon 2019 for Redr. [/p][p]Over the past almost 3 years I have really fell in love with running. The main reason I started was to get healthier but now it has become a massive hobby running nearly everyday and I love going to races. (Check out my first run photo to my most recent run photo below). Like most of us I have grown up watching the London marathon and as a kid wondering how on earth anyone could run such a distance and now having the opportunity to run such a world reknown, iconic and famous race is so exciting and doing it to raise money for charity makes it even more special.[/p][p]Redr are a great charity. Their work involves supplying people and training in some of the world's worst disaster zones. Not only do they supply help and support in reconstructing communities and infrastructure they also train people to ensure they have the skills to rebuild their own communities.[/p][p]I will add regular updates on here and Facebook to keep you all updated about how my fundraising and training is going but thank you all for checking out my page and donating.[/p][p]19/02 - So tonight I have just passed the half way point of fundraising. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who had donated so far. Training is actually going really well and I completed an 18 mile run last weekend which was good fun. Getting up to the serious miles now. I've added a picture of the wollaton park 10k I did the other week for a bit of fun and to get back into the excitement of race day. It was very muddy but great fun. I will add some more updates soon. Thank you all again.[/p][p]31/03 - so just 4 weeks left now until the big day and I'm so excited. Training is at the gruelling stage now with some really long, solo runs. Luckily only one big one left until I can start to wind them down abit with a taper up to the marathon. Last weekend I completed the Ashby 20 mile race which is a lot hillier than London but managed a decent time of 2:25:55 so pretty happy with that. Got a couple of things wrong like going off way to fast but good to get them out the system now. Also now get to proudly wear my Ashby 20 hoodie everywhere (see picture). Again thank you to everyone who has donated I have a couple of full sponsor forms which I will collect after the run so total at the moment is actually a bit higher than in here so getting really quite close. Hopefully update once more before the marathon. Thank you everyone again.[/p]
