My story

[p]This is the second year that I will be doing Ride London in July but I will also doing the Stafford 70.3 Ironman for the first time in June, which is not bad for a lad that was over 22 stone did not exercise just 3 short years ago. [/p][p]Following a promise made to my mum before she passed away in January 2015, I said I would lose weight and get fitter. Since that promise I have done 10K runs, The Great North Run, Ride London and lost a bit of weight (its a still a work in progress). These events are the next step for me keeping that promise.[/p][p]Running and Cycling has helped me no end not just physically but as also helped my mental health. Exercise and by doing these challenges it has given me somewhere to channel my grief and anger following my mum's death. [/p][p]Exercise is the perfect place for me to box off my mental health but some people are not that lucky. Mental health is something that men especially don't talk about. Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 and its thanks to charities such as The Samaritans that the statistics are not higher. [/p][p]My donating to my page you will be able to help thousands of people who have nowhere else to turn and are at their lowest point.[/p]
