My story

[p]My second London Marathon back in April was the toughest run I've done. I wasn't planning on doing another long run any time soon. However, I couldn't turn down the opportunity to give some support to Donnie's Fund, the charity set up by my friends Ruth and Marcel in memory of their son Donnie, who was born in April 2017 with the life limiting condition Edwards Syndrome, and was not expected to live more than a few days or weeks. In the event, sadly, Donnie lived for 142 days and died on 8th September 2017. [/p][p]Donnie's Fund has three main goals: [/p][p] 1. To make life easier for families in the neonatal unit at University College Hospital, where Donnie was cared for. Such families often need to travel long distances and juggle the needs of other family members, such as Donnie's four siblings [/p][p] 2. To help families on the unit include their babies in their family's life[/p][p] 3. To further dialogue on medical ethics[/p][p]Please give generously to this special cause, and even if you're not able to donate just now, I urge you to visit their website www.donniesfund.org.[/p]
