My story

[p]Beginning 13th June 2019 - I will attempt to handcycle Land’s End to John o’ Groats (LEJOG), and break the Guinness world record.[/p][p]The current female Guinness world record stands at 11 days.[/p][p]I have personal reasons for attempting this challenge, a spark of adventure that was lit way back within a hospital’s four walls, and one that has grown over the years building to this point. My passion for adventure and my love of sport has always been closely linked, and following some corrective heart surgery at the end of last year that had put a pause on my racing career, this project built over the last year brings my experience and mindset of performance sport, into the world of adventure and ultra-cycling.[/p][p]ArcticONE support through a grant-giving charity, to enable those with disabilities to get active through sport, be that for leisure, family fun, weekend warriors or Paralympic athletes. ArcticONE also run events throughout the year including the Tri and ParaTri Festival at Eton Dorney and Junior ParaTriathlon, fantastic events for all the family to get involved with as well as corporate team relays and more.[/p][p]ArcticONE have helped me with a grant towards an electronic gearing upgrade on my handbike, and are a charity I have always supported and champion the amazing work they do for anyone needing support with access to disability sport and physical health.[/p][p]Thank you so much for supporting me and in turn those benefitting from the ArcticONE Foundation, to get active and engage in sport alongside their able-bodied piers.[/p][p]----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------[/p]
