Team story

[p]We are a group of five who came together in support of our friend and team captain Robin, who was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in 2016. To help with his recovery we agreed to set ourselves a challenge that would inspire a positive fight to recovery. Three of the team have also served in the military and are very aware of the impact of mental pressures on soldiers. With both these thoughts in mind, we decided to support a charity that helped with physical and one that helped with mental health. We wanted to be challenged by something adventurous, beyond the obvious, and by something that hopefully would inspire others. [/p][p]We will row the Atlantic Ocean as a part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2018. We will start in the Canary Islands and finish in Antigua, over 45 days and 3,000 miles of Open Ocean later. This will be a journey of huge discomfort and pressure on body and mind. It is a challenge that asks a lot of the individual and of a team both on the water and at home but, how else do you inspire unless you push yourself beyond your own perceived limits? We are four ordinary guys who are going to be a part of something extraordinary to raise the profile of two charities that help the recovery in thousands beset with immense challenges of their own. [/p][p]We are doing this for those that need just a little inspiration to ask for the support they need which, may ultimately save their lives. [/p]
