My story

[p]Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. [/p][p]As Ride London proper was cancelled on Sunday 16 August I'm planning to complete my own 100mile ride to raise money for Tommy's. [/p][p]Some of you will know that Portia and I, tragically lost our son at 31 weeks, in October 2012. Bubba was born sleeping and will forever be our angel. Seldom does a day go by without thinking of Bubba and what might have been.[/p][p]Bubba has a special place in all of our family's hearts.[/p][p]Portia's Dad; Chris Geaves sadly left us far too soon in July 2020. As father in laws go, he was an amazing one and supported us so much throughout our grief and absolutely adored his rainbow granddaughters. He didn't get a chance to donate to this challenge... I'm certain that he would've said I was mad :-) but I'm sure Chris would be honoured if you could donate on his behalf, to a cause that he believed in. [/p][p]Tommy's fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents. Tommy's want every parent to have the best possible pregnancy outcomes and take home happy healthy babies. [/p][p]Now, I fully appreciate that being a keen cyclist, cycling to raise money for charity may not seem to be much of challenge and you could be right in thinking that it is thinly veiled excuse to get some 'me time'! Please rest assured that I expect to feel sore at the end of it. [/p][p]I will never be able to fully comprehend the emotional and physical trauma Portia went through to give birth to our son. The efforts of Tommy's and your support will help prevent others going through the same pain and suffering.[/p][p]Any donation you are able to make will be greatly received by Tommy's, perhaps now more than ever.[/p][p]Thank you and take care[/p][p]Mike[/p][p][br][/p]
