My story

[p] [/p][p]I was always a healthy and active person, so when I couldn’t even run to the end of my street, I knew something was wrong.[/p][p][br][/p][p]A myriad of blood tests that kept coming back negative until it was realised that it was not my heart but in fact my liver that wasn’t working I was called into hospital for intensive tests. PBC was mentioned plus glandular fever. This was making my liver fail, I was told that I would probably need a transplant in the distance future[/p][p][br][/p][p]Very quickly my health deteriorated. My skin and eyes went yellow my skin was so itchy that I dreaded going to bed at night. I was losing so much weight that everyone thought I was anorexic[/p][p][br][/p][p]The doctors decided to place me on the Transplant list but before that I need to undergo pre transplant assessment.[/p][p]This found lumps on my ovaries which need to be remove, complex operation because of my failing liver. I was in hospital for eight weeks then my small bowl shut down which required another operation. After 10 weeks in hospital my weight loss was now extreme and I was being IV fed.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Then in August 2014 I received the call to say that I had been match with a donor.[/p][p]My transplant was a total success [/p][p] [/p]
