[p]In July 2017 I went out to Namibia to help to run a workshop for the Namibia Government, the judiciary, enforcement officers and charities on how Namibia could tighten the laws around poaching and the illegal wildlife trade in order to fight back against the poaching war they are currently waging.[/p][p]Having heard first hand about the crisis (and seen some awful photographs), in November this year I am returning to Namibia to run 250 km (approx 156 miles) across the Namib Desert in 5 consecutive stages carrying all my race kit and food. With temperatures reaching up to and above 40 degrees centigrade I don't underestimate the magnitude of this challenge, but every day I will be getting out of the tent and putting one foot in front of the other to reach the finish post at the Save the Rhino Trust Namibia outpost. [/p][p]This set out to be a personal challenge in a country that still feels wild, however most people I have told have asked me where my fundraising page is.... which leads me to this. Please help me raise some cash for the Namibian Save the Rhino project, Save the Rhino Trust Namibia. [/p][p]The poaching crisis is affecting every day people in some of the poorest parts of the world and is taking their valuable wildlife away from them and future generations. Money raised for Save the Rhino Trust can be used towards monitoring the black rhino population, kitting out the rangers who risk their lives protecting the rhinos, engaging the local communities so that they understand the true conservation value of the rhino, providing training for trackers and training for new rangers. [/p][p]I have completely self-funded my race entry and travel, so any amount donated will be directly benefiting my cause and will be truly welcomed.[/p][p]During my race I will be fitted with a tracker and will post the link to this on this page - please feel free to track me and give me a kick when I'm slowing.[/p][p]Thanks[/p]
