My story

[p]Event : 350 mile cycle ride from Stornoway to Port of Ness, down to Vatersay and back to Stornoway[/p][p]Duration: Start: Wednesday 5th August End: Thursday 13th August[/p][p]Route:[/p][p]Recent History and a 10-Year Vision[/p][p]After a successful 350 charity cycle ride in the Outer Hebrides, April 2019 and, a comment from me at the end in Stornoway "I would never do that again", I'm back with a new expanded vision. Last year my target was £1000 and to my surprise, I exceeded the target and raised £1365 for mental health charity SANE and the British Heart Foundation (BHF), thanks to the generosity of many friends, work colleagues and quite a few people I don't know.[/p][p]I'm repeating the trip from Stornoway to Port of Ness in the North of Isle of Lewis and down to Vatersay at the extreme South of the island chain, then all the way back to Stornoway on Lewis. This time all the money will go to mental health charities a 50/50 split between the Scottish Mental Health Association and SANE. This is Part 2, a small piece of a bigger plan to raise £10,000 over 10 years, another £1000 this year will, together with funds raised last year, put me on ~25% of my target; who knows, with your help I may complete ahead of the remaining 9 years?[/p][p]On this ride I'm making one slight deviation to the route I took last year, see the photo map. On the southern route down the west side of Lewis I'll make a detour at Garrynahine and head towards Kinlochroag on route to the Eerie, a clifftop bothy at Magnersta, overlooking the North Atlantic, on Lewis's jagged western coastline.[/p][p].....More to follow[/p]
