My story

[p]Last July my world came crashing down while out for a run. I was told in a phone call that it looked like the Breast cancer I thought I had got rid of in 2015/6 had now spread to the bones (my pelvis) and now while treatable was not cure able. Tests, scans and finally treatment started but the running and swimming I was doing on a regular basis came to a halt.[/p][p]Too risky and also I had no energy, the cancer and the diagnosis seemed to have zapped what energy I had. I reduced my hours at work with the help of Cancer Support Yorkshire who helped me by filling all the complicated forms to get the financial help. They are based in Skipton and do much more than this but saved a lot of stress in a time when all I could see was stress.[/p][p]I was also assigned Vicky the palliative care nurse with Sue Ryder at Manorlands the local hospice. She is not only here for me now but will be for me later when I decide that I can no longer stay at home. [/p][p]Both charities are close to my heart and as this will be my last fundraiser I want to raise money for both - a legacy as such.[/p][p]So as I am not allowed to run (a blessing really) the doctors have approved that I can go back swimming to the Coniston Hall Spa. I have decided a challenge of 100 miles - the pool is 15m long and if I go 3 times a week I might get it done by July - August definitely! (I thought it was only 68 lengths a mile but have been told 108!!)[/p][p]So if you can donate - anything I am grateful. Just don't judge if one day I just sit and admire the views instead of a swim, this will all be health related.[/p][p]Keep updated in my blog https://canmollyrun.com/ [/p]
