My story

[p]On top of the World in 80 days for Mental Health in Leicestershire[/p][p][br][/p][p]Chris a gentleman enduring Bi-Polar Disorder, who lives in Enderby, has set himself a hefty challenge. He is climbing the height of Mount Everest (8,848 metres) in 80 days for Mental Health organisations that have or are helping him with his Mental Illness on a Technogym Stair Climber at Everyone Active Enderby.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Chris says about the Challenge:[/p][p]“I have been through the Mental Health System here in Leicestershire and currently live quite an isolated and sedentary lifestyle and the only person who can change this is me! Living with Bi-Polar Disorder is not easy and has been and will continue to be a learning process. The key for me is to understand my illness and overcome it. The www.MountEverestChallenge.com is my attempt to help turn my situation around – step by step – and give back to those who have and continue to help me. It will be a major physical challenge as I am obese partly due to having been on medications that significantly increase appetite and the misuse of alcohol.”[/p][p][br][/p][p]The challenge will begin on Saturday October 5th 2019 at Everyone Active Enderby and will be started by Dean Stott a Pan American Highway Cycling Guinness World Record Breaker, former SBS soldier and Mental Health advocate. [/p][p][br][/p][p]Chris is raising funds for A Place to Grow Enderby where he enjoys being around the beautiful surroundings and good company, Leicester Recovery College a mental health educational college offering courses to aid in recovery post admission that Chris has learnt a lot from and Rethink who allocated a key worker to support Chris’s family.
