My story

[p]The students from Five Islands School who board at Mundesley House during the week have decided this Christmas to do something different. [/p][p]Last year during the Christmas period it was discussed how hard it must be without a home, especially at Christmas and during the cold winter nights. This year we have decided to act upon this and we are aiming to raise twenty lots of £28.18 (£563.60). This amount is twenty CRISIS Christmas shelter reservations, the equivalent of one for each student who boards at Mundesley.[/p][p]To raise this money and awareness of how hard it can be to be homeless, some of our students (aged between 11 and 16) will be spending one night under the stars. The students will either be sleeping with just a cardboard box for shelter or in a tent. This event will happen during the last week of school, just before Christmas.[/p][p]If we can raise £563.60, then twenty homeless people can receive all of the below. Please help us to give twenty homeless people:[/p][p]· A warm welcome and good company[/p][p]· Three nutritious, hot meals daily, including a delicious Christmas dinner[/p][p]· A bed for the night, if needed[/p][p]· A chance to shower, freshen up and get clean clothes[/p][p]· A health check and treatment from a doctor, optician and dentist[/p][p]· Expert help with mental health and addiction problems[/p][p]· Advice on housing, employment and benefits[/p][p]· A way out of homelessness for good through Crisis’ year-round training, education and support.[/p][p][br][/p]
