My story

[p]Hi everyone thanks for visiting my fundraising page.[/p][p]I just want to take the opportunity to thank everybody who has sponsored me on all my crazy walks over the years raising over £12,000 pounds in the process!!! - you are the real heroes and should take all the credit![/p][p]This year i'm raising awareness about Dyspraxia and money for the excellent Dyspraxia foundation as the condition affects several members of our family.[/p][p]We had the pleasure of attending their annual conference in London last year and it was fantastic!![/p][p] There were experts and guest speakers with information and inspiring stories which inspired me to dust down my hiking gear once again!!![/p][p]The foundation gives help and support to people of all ages who live with this complex neurological condition.[/p][p]Getting help and recognition and understanding for this hidden disability is a very stressful and exhausting battle and being able to access the foundation is very important for help and support.[/p][p]The fact it is hidden means it suffers in comparison to more visible disabilities, but affects lives just as much.[/p][p]Here is a snap shot of Dyspraxia and although it doesn't affect intelligence it can affect the following;[/p][p]Planning and organisation[/p][p]Spatial awareness[/p][p]Time keeping[/p][p]Balance[/p][p]Coordination and Movement control (e.g. writing, eating, speech, riding and peddling a cycle, climbing stairs, driving a car)[/p][p]Fine motor skills (e.g. getting dressed, tying shoelaces, buttoning clothing, holding cutlery, using scissors)[/p][p]Anxiety levels and Mental health[/p][p]Social issues and forming relationships[/p][p]Self esteem and many more .......[/p][p]In short Dyspraxia affects everything an individual does, but with the right help and support people can go on to lead very successful lives.[/p][p]So if you have a few pounds to spare you will be helping thousands of people and putting me through hell for the 8th time!!![/p][p]What's not to like ???😁[/p][p]Thank you so much for reading this and your amazing generosity!!! [/p][p] Nick x[/p][p][br][/p]

Our 10 year old son has been diagnosed with Dyspraxia and he thinks it is amazing what you are doing! We would love for better awareness of the condition and for more understanding of how hard every day can be for him. Good luck & thank you 👍
