My story

[p]UPDATE 1/5 - I did it! I bloody did it! I AM A MARATHONER!!! I can honestly say I loved every minute of it. Running with 2 amazing ladies who have been through the same pain as I have, seeing friends along the way who had come out to support me, bumping into friends who were also running. It finally hit me what I was doing while I was waiting around at 10:10 am. As the cheers started as the race begun, I begun to bawl my eyes out. Sporadic tears continued along the route and as I crossed the line I crumpled on the poor lady giving me my medal. I am so proud of what I have achieved. And I am so grateful to everyone who has donated and helped me smash my target. šŸ’œ[/p][p]*************************************[/p][p]UPDATE 17/4 - Its taper time, so lots of 'little' 5 mile runs now. When did 5 miles become a little run?? I'm actually missing the long runs already - that was my little bit of quiet time, just me, my music and the ducks along the river. [/p][p]****************************************************************************************************************[/p][p]UPDATE 31/3 - Today I ran 20 miles!!!! It was 5 x 4 mile laps of Dorney Lake and the weather was miserable. Still, I ran with a great group of people and ended up with a final time of 03:35:31 which I'm really pleased with. On target for a sub-5 hour marathon. I'll be happy with that. :)[/p][p]****************************************************************************************************************[/p][p]UPDATE 28/2 - So 2 months to go today, and I have today ran further than I have ever run before - 15 miles! I picked a lovely route along the river, took my time, and really enjoyed it.[/p][p]****************************************************************************************************************[/p][p]Its FINALLY happening!! This year I'll be running in the London Marathon!! A lot of you know that I've been talking about this for a long time ā€¦ well its time to stop the talking and get on with it. Training will be a massive challenge, but I'm determined to do the best I can.[/p][p]I'll be raising money for Ability Bow who provide fitness and rehabilitation to help people who have a disability, an injury or a long-term health condition. Ability Bow can be a life-changing experience for many of its users. The impact on their quality of life can be so great that for some it has meant the difference between walking and not. Or, they may simply gain the ability to look after themselves without constant care and support.[/p][p]Any donations you can spare will be massively appreciated, by myself and Ability Bow.
