Team story

[p]Firstly, thanks for your support! [/p][p]I am running the London Marathon THIS YEAR! The biggest challenge I have ever set myself. I’m doing it with my lovely friend Helene. Her enthusiasm, drive and positivity drives me absolutely bonkers! But I love her and I wouldn’t want to be running the 26.2 miles with anyone else. [/p][p]As many of you are aware, our family unexpectedly lost my Brother Danny in November 2014 to a subarachnoid brain haemorrhage, he was only 29. To lose anyone you love hurts, but when you lose someone so young and unexpectedly tore our world apart. There isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not thinking about him and I know he would have been there on the day cheering me on in the crowd having a beer (or 10). [/p][p]I have chosen to raise money for The Brain and Spine Foundation. A charity that helps people and their families who have had/ are having neurological problems. We’ve raised an amazing £2260 so far and want to raise as much as possible for this amazing charity.[/p][p]Helene and I are in full training mode now…. So if you see us out running, give us a toot! 😊[/p][p][br][/p][p]About Helene... [/p][p]Well this is me...Helene....I'd like to say I’m the better half of our small running team, but my smile isn't as big or my heart as filled with gold as my good friend Natalie. I'm not sure how l landed this place in the London Marathon but here l am, the girl who up until last year didn't own a pair of trainers or was able to run to the end of my road. To say it's a challenge is an understatement. But with your ongoing support, positive thinking and a fair bit of training I'm going to give it my best shot. [/p][p] [/p][p]I wasn’t fortunate enough to know Natalie’s brother Danny, but after being in the warmth of the Nelson family these last few months, l know he was someone very special who has left a huge hole and is deeply missed. What l do know is how much it hurts to have a close loved one tragically taken away from you and this is the reason I’m supporting The Brain & Spine Foundation Charity.[/p][p]Thank you for all your kind words, smiles & well wishes we hope to do you all proud X [/p]
