My story

[p]In April this year we are running the London Marathon! [/p][p]We are nervous and excited to take on the challenge but encouraged that we have a chance to raise some money for three incredible charities that unfortunately sit very close to our hearts.[/p][p]We will be raising money for Grief Encounter, Chai Cancer & Luton and Dunstable Hospital.[/p][p]Grief Encounter - The work this charity does to provide support to children and families at the most difficult of times is remarkable and something we are personally thankful for. [/p][p]Luton and Dunstable - Our nephew, Jack Simons, was born at 24 weeks, 16 weeks premature, weighing just 1lb 9oz he could fit inside the palm of your hand. With just a 10% survival rate the nurses and doctors at Luton NICU unit worked tirelessly to save his life fighting too many illnesses and complications to mention. Against all the odds, Jack fought through and with the help of the team at Luton, he survived. He is now 5 years old and the happiest, smartest, loveable boy who we all couldn't be prouder of - he is completely unscathed from his first and worst weeks in this world. The amount of joy and love he brings to all of our lives is indescribable so any funds raised to help any other children in Jack's position is money well spent :) [/p][p]Chai Cancer - A few years ago, Tash's free spirited, loving and very special auntie Renee was diagnosed with Cancer. Luckily, today she is fighting fit and has been in remission for over 5 years. The incredible support she received from Chai throughout the duration of treatment to fight her disease, was outstanding. If that wasn’t enough, Chai provided support for her wonderful husband and children and, Chai still continue to provide a consistent support to her as she manages the changes this has brought to her life. She has always been full of spirit and this did not change during her treatment. She is an inspiration to all of us so to be able to give back to the charity that has helped her so much we know will help us cross that finish line.[/p][p]Anything you can donate, however big or small is very much appreciated not only by us but more so by these three remarkable charities.[/p][p]Wish us luck and hope to see you at the finish line![/p][p]Elliott and Tash x[/p]
