[p]That's right, the Neeli Mosque Team have created a challenge that we know will be a winner (insha'allah!)[/p][p]2020 has been a challenging year for us all, including the Mosque. From having to close completely for 3+ months to opening with a vastly reduced capacity for the congregation. However, we have both survived and managed, thanks to the blessings of Allah (SWT) and the support of the congregation and general public.[/p][p]Our new building, the Neeli Education and Wellbeing Centre continues it's progress with Phase 2a of the build: Walls and Roof (see pics). We still need to raise approx £90,000 in order to complete this work. That's where this challenge comes in![/p][p]Not only have we been limited in what we can do locally but there are further restrictions on visiting the Masjid Al-Haram. Many in Rochdale missed out on this year's Hajj and now even Umrah, which had started to open, is currently not possible (as of December). Yet Allah (SWT) knows what is in our hearts and our intentions. Let us then work together towards a goal of completing the amount of miles from Neeli Mosque to Masjid Al-Haram - all 4,185 of them! Not only will you help achieve this virtual goal but in reality, you will intentionally become more active, which is vital during these current tier / lockdown levels. Vital for both our physical AND mental health. [/p][p]You can make your contribution to the total miles however you wish - convert your steps, go for walks, run if you can. Cyclists, get on your bike and for those who can find an open swimming pool, swim! A form will be made available to complete on a weekly basis and together the miles from us all will add up to 4,185. Weekly updates will be posted on our social media pages to show progress and which places we have made it to virtually...[/p][p]Feel free to set whatever personal target you want to raise as part of the challenge. As a suggestion, adults could set a goal of £150 and U18s £50.
