My story

[p]In 2020 we lost Dad to Lewy Body Dementia. He was a much loved, incessantly chatty, endlessly helpful, fun loving dad, gramps, husband and friend. [/p][p][br][/p][p]Lewy Body Dementia is the second most common form of dementia and is a particularly difficult way to lose a loved one. People with LBD experience dramatic swings in their level of alertness, fluctuating from clarity to confusion, often in a short period of time. Visual hallucinations are common and often vivid. [/p][p][br][/p][p]The Lewy Body Society was the first charity in Europe exclusively concerned with Lewy body dementia. Their mission is to raise awareness of the disease and to support people living with the disease and their carers. They also fund research to try to improve the diagnosis, treatment and care for Lewy body dementia, and to date have funded over £1.8 million in research studies. [/p][p][br][/p][p]Please visit their website if you'd like to know more (https://www.lewybody.org/). They, and I would be very grateful for any donation you can afford. [/p][p][br][/p][p]I've never run a marathon before and am already sure I'm never going to run one again. I've got about 15 weeks to get ready for it, which should be enough if I can just start running a bit more, for a bit longer.... How hard can that be?![/p][p]Follow my training and maybe even my race on Instragram @london.marathon.2021[/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
