My story

[p]Its been nearly eleven years since I last put on my runners and pounded the streets of London but in April 2016 I'll be doing exactly that to raise money for a fantastic charity, beat.[/p][p]Four years ago, my beautiful and talented sister-in-law lost her 17 year battle with anorexia. Mel was an intelligent, kind and selfless person who was loved and respected by so many people. [/p][p]Beat exists to provide hope and improve life for anyone affected by an eating disorder.  The money you donate will enable beat to maintain their Helpline and online support which helps people understand their eating disorder, supports them to seek early treatment, and empowers them to ask for and receive the best standard of care from the NHS.[/p] [p]As well as helping individuals, beat also campaigns for better understanding in the workplace and education as well as for more funding and better treatment for eating disorders in the health service. [/p][p]I'm delighted that my long term running buddy Linda Rowe will be flying in from Sydney and joining me on the day. Whilst I am training in the wind and the rain, she will be enjoying some sunnier weather but I cannot thank her enough for agreeing to run for such a good cause. I'm already looking forward to sharing a celebratory glass of something once we've crossed the line![/p][p]Our goal is to raise as much money for this amazing charity as possible, to raise awareness of beat and the work they do to support those with eating disorders and to hopefully make it round quicker than last time! [/p]
