My story

[p]The sea is a big part of my life, I never feel better than when I am sailing or surfing on it, I even work with it! Sailing has been in my family for 4 generations and was signified by the purchase of Nipegegi (pronounced nippy gee-gee) our beloved family wooden Wayfarer sailing dinghy. She was bought at the 1959 London Boat Show by my Grandfather, Bill Hodshon and her name is made up of the first two letters of each of my uncle, father and aunties’ names i.e. Nick, Penny, Geoff and Gill. [/p][p]The connection to the sea is the same for my life long friend, Richard Mitchell who has also studied her, worked on her, surfed and sailed her. Five years ago we hatched the idea to set out on the adventure of a lifetime, in 60 year old 'Nipe' and attempt to be the first to circumnavigate Great Britain non-stop and unassisted in an open dinghy. [/p][p]So as a team, Nipegegi Round Britain are all naturally passionate about the protection of the marine environment (Rich and Suzanne have both studied and worked in the field of marine conservation for some years) and we want to support and encourage greater protection, as well as the safe enjoyment of such an amazing environment now and for our kids and their kids. [/p][p]With the support of our umbrella charity the Water Smart Foundation we are raising funds for two inspiring ocean minded charities RNLI and Surfers Against Sewage. Thanks for joining us on our Journey, Will Hodshon.[/p][vmgvideo class="ql-video" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/BrIKnrPE-f4?showinfo=0&rel=0&iv_load_policy=3"][/vmgvideo][p][br][/p]
