My story

[p][br][/p][p]Medicine Ball Challenge [/p][p]Hi guys I’m Andy Unwin and this is my Medicine Ball Challenge.[/p][p]The medicine ball represents the weight, and burden service personnel and veterans carry around with them every day due to mental health problems. Many feel that they can’t talk because of the stigma surrounding mental health problems. Problems such as Stress, Anxiety, PTSD, and Depression. Which have led to the number of Mental health related deaths of veterans and serving soldiers rise to an alarming rate.[/p][p]Not all wounds are visible, however this could have been avoided if only they had talked to someone, or there was more awareness.[/p][p]I want to raise awareness of these issues. On the 19th November, as part of International men’s day I hand cuffed this medicine ball to myself, and carried it around everywhere I went for 2 weeks! Carrying out normal daily tasks trying to function with this weight making even simple tasks seems like a challenge. I also completed various challenges throughout the 2 weeks. Such as Park runs and loaded marches. [/p][p]When my 2 weeks were up. I started encourage friends and willing individuals to do the same for 1 week at a time and keep this ball going as long as possible.[/p][p]I cannot stress enough not all wounds are visible this simple ball could raise awareness and funds to help those in need of our help. Many service personnel and veterans carry these injuries around every single day. If you are struggling, please, please speak to someone be it a work colleague, a friend, even a stranger, just speak out and ask for help.[/p][p]The funds raised go to Combat Stress and ABF the Soldiers Charity. If you want take on the challenge yourself and make a real difference for a worthy cause, contact me.[/p][p]Take on the Challenge Contact- Andyunwin01@hotmail.co.uk[/p][p]Thank you[/p]
