Team story

[p]The Numbnuts are off again on their bicycles for a gruelling challenge from Twickenham Stadium, London, the home of Rugby Union, all the way to Spain and finishing at the World famous Football ground, The Nou Camp, home of Barcelona FC.[/p][p]So with the unbelievably successful ride from Lands End to John O Groats now 3 years ago, the Numbnuts have rejoined and also increased in numbers. We have a 14 strong team of riders, who have spent many cold and wet mornings out on their bikes, to start the build up of getting "challenge" fit!! The next few weeks will see the levels increased and the rides get longer and longer, so come 8th June, the 9 days of cycling, at an average of 105 miles per day, won't be too painful to one's lower regions! We are certainly not going to underestimate the size of what lies ahead.[/p][p]Back in 2015, Numbnuts LEJOG challenge raised an incredible amount of money, with the total being shared between the 3 beneficiary charities, in excess of 30,000GBP!! Thank you to everyone who very kindly donated to the causes. So with 3 years passing and the thought of raising money for another fabulous charity, the Numbnuts are delighted to announce that The Oddballs Foundation will benefit from the 2018 challenge.[/p][p]The OddBalls Foundation was set up in 2016 to raise awareness of Testicular Cancer. Through the Foundation we hope to make a difference to male health around the world.[/p][p]Testicular Cancer is around 95% curable so early diagnosis and regular checking is important. Their aim is to fit as many ‘check yourself ‘ guides into male toilets and changing rooms across the country. This will encourage males to check themselves regularly and in doing so detect any problems early. [/p][p]We are proud to promote that 100% of all money donated to the Foundation is used to raise awareness of Testicular Cancer. Oddballs are generously supported by volunteers and run with no overheads or costs.[/p][p][/p][p]I think you will agree with The Numbnuts team that the Numbnuts/Oddballs connection is a fantastic and exciting combination.[/p][p]So please, dig deep, support us in any way you can, we have set the bar high to surpass the total of 2015. We know it's going to be hard hard work, spending upto 10 hours a day in the saddle, no rest day, June heat in France and northern Spain to name some of the obstacles that we have to battle through.[/p][p]So countdown is's going to be Epic!!! (As in the words of my 6 year old son, Tom!!)[/p]
