My story

[p]Thank you for visiting our team's fundraising page for the 2020 London Legal Walk 10xChallenge. Having conquered 10,000 Steps for Justice in June, we will be taking on the 10xChallenge remotely on 5 October.[/p][p]Brand new for this year's London Legal Walk is the 10xChallenge! That can still be 10k walking or running but for those who are still working from home in October or are looking for something a bit different to our usual 10k walk, we encourage you to take on your own virtual challenge.[/p][p]Whether you opt to swim, skip, star jump or skateboard your way to 10, 100, 1,000 or even 10,000, this is your chance to get creative and showcase your talents (or learn a new skill).[/p][p]Our team for 10km walk on 5 October includes: Francis Ho, Lindsay Wells, Matthew Martin, Hannah Hayward, Shakira Fontenelle, Elizabeth Levine, Charlotte Benson-Goring, Nilly Tabatabai, Edward Steabler, Laura Rowley, Hannah Fricker, Edward Floyd, Joshua Hoare, Jackson Tree, Nicole Finlayson, George Mingay and Camilla Bridges.[/p][p]Our team for 10,000 Steps for Justice on 8 June included: Francis Ho, Bethan Carr, Phillip D’Costa, Matthew Martin, Elizabeth Levine, Charlotte D’Avola (and son Zachary), Hannah Grayson, Holly Strube, Nicola Baker, Emily Evans, Sophie Bullimore, Eilidh Stevenson, Nilly Tabatabai, Shakira Fontenelle, Charlotte Hill, Caroline Barry, Will Axtell, Jessica Johnson, Rosa Shand, Shamerah Theivendran, Hazar El-Chamaa, Olivia Glover, Pat Saini, James Severn, Aline Constan, Hannah Fricker, Jo Wilson, Nicole Finlayson, Laura Tonna-Barthet, George Mingay, Katherine Harding, Sharon O'Neill, Kaileigh Morton, Megan Atkins, Lindsay Wells, Louise Taylor, Natasha Bowyer Irvine, Meghan Vozila, Matilda Kingham, Kelly Tomkinson.[/p][p]We are walking with the Lord Chief Justice and thousands of lawyers remotely to raise funds for the London Legal Support Trust which funds Law Centres and pro bono agencies in and around London.[/p][p]Two-thirds of the UK population don’t know how to get legal advice and 14 million people who live in poverty can’t afford to pay for it. The London Legal Walk raises vital funds to ensure access to justice for some of our communities’ most poor and vulnerable people. [/p][p]Your support is needed now more than ever with the challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic. Reduced funding in the charity sector means advice agencies are doing all they can to meet rising need despite a drastically restricted income. Emergency applications for funding are pouring in, with advice charities reporting up to a 600% increase in requests for help.[/p][p]The event supports over 100 legal advice agencies in London and the South East. We know that these agencies do a fantastic job in preventing homelessness, resolving debt problems, gaining care for the elderly, fighting discrimination and exploitation.[/p][p]Please sponsor our walkers as generously as you are able.[/p][p]Many thanks for your support.[/p]
