Team story

[p]Hi,[/p][p][/p][p]Thanks for visiting our page. We are a community perinatal mental health service and our running team is composed of doctors, therapists, nurses, social workers, admin, sons and daughters. [/p][p]We manage psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care  for mothers and families who suffer from postapartum mental illnesses like postpartum psychosis, postnatal depression and perinatal OCD in addition to other maternal mental diosrder.[/p][p]Postpartum Psychosis (PP) is a severe, but treatable, form of mental illness that occurs after having a baby. It can happen ‘out of the blue’ to women without previous experience of mental illness though women with histrory of specific mental disorders for example Bipolar Affective Disorder are more at risk.[/p][p]We have seen and experineced closely how damaging postpartum psychosis can be for mothers and families and what it means to have timely help and intervention.[/p][p]The support that charities like Action on Postpartum Psychosis  (APP) provide, in addition to professional intervention from services like ours, to families goes a long way in helping families manage this very difficult time and experience.[/p][p]We are running in support of Action on Postpartum Psychosis - a charity thats close to our hearts and that has been working tirelessly with professionals and families to improve lives of families affected by postnatal psychosis. This is our way of saying thank you to the tireless work that APP does and has been doing with mums and families.[/p][p]We would really appreacite if you could find it in your heart and wallet(!) to help support this worthwhile cause.[/p][p][/p][p]for more details on APP and what they do, please visit[/p][p][/p][p]http://www.app-network.org/about-us/[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
