[p][/p][div=color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: small; direction: inherit;]Hi, Pam here!  [/div][div=color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: small; direction: inherit;]Mum and I are running the London Marathon (finally!) in 2017.  And we're not doing it alone.  We are running as part of the [url=https://www.headstogether.org.uk/]Heads Together campaign[/url], founded by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry - I'm fully expecting to pop in by Buckingham Palace for a cuppa afterwards ;-) [/div] [div=color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: small; direction: inherit;]We are running on Team Best Beginnings.  [url=https://www.bestbeginnings.org.uk/]Best Beginnings [/url]are one of the Heads Together campaign charity partners.  We picked Best Beginnings because the work they do is very close to our hearts.  They are a charity who work tirelessly to support mothers and babies in the UK to ensure every child gets the best possible start in life.[/div] [div=color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: small; direction: inherit;]We were particularly drawn to them as they are big supporters of maternal mental health.  As you may be aware if you've seen my [url=https://obsessivecompulsivemother.wordpress.com/]blog[/url], I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and anxiety, and have also suffered with depression in the past.  I was worried about my mental health history whilst I was pregnant and, after the premature arrival of my wee boy (The Munchkin!), I needed extra support for my anxiety and OCD.  Best Beginnings support mums with their mental health, and raise awareness on these issues, so we want to help them continue to carry out this vital work by raising much needed funds.[/div] [div=color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: small; direction: inherit;]Best Beginnings also help families of premature and sick babies.  We were lucky that The Munchkin only had to spend five days on the neonatal unit after his arrival six weeks early, but I know others aren't as fortunate.  And even though we had a relatively straightforward time of it, it was still the most stressful and difficult experience of my life, so I want to do what I can to help others going through the same thing which is why we want to raise as much money as possible so Best Beginnings can keep working with other families in similar situations.[/div] [div=color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: small; direction: inherit;]This is all just a part of the amazing work Best Beginnings do.  They provide a wealth of information and support for anyone to access across the UK, including an innovative, award-winning support app called [url=https://www.bestbeginnings.org.uk/baby-buddy]Baby Buddy[/url], which is available for free download.  They are a small but mighty charity, and it would mean the world to me and my mum if you would help us to help them. [/div] [div=color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: small; direction: inherit;]Please follow along with our marathon journey through my blog, [url=https://obsessivecompulsivemother.wordpress.com/]Obsessive Compulsive Mother[/url].  We are planning various fundraising efforts, and we'll keep you updated with these and with our training - if nothing else, I will provide laughs with post-run training photos (I've not told mum this yet)![/div] [div=color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: small; direction: inherit;]So, if you can, please sponsor us for taking on the crazy 26.2 mile challenge that is the London Marathon.  We can't wait to be on the starting line (not to mention, crossing the finish line!) on April 23rd 2017, and having your support will make it that much easier.[/div] [div=color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: small; direction: inherit;]Much love,[/div] [div=color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: small; direction: inherit;]Pam x[/div]
