My story

[p]A busy job, a busy family life and a busy social life. Here's a list of reasons why I could justify not having (enough) time to live an active life. But I still do and cannot do without! [/p][p]In this busy life it's running that not only provides me with physical strength, but it also keeps my mind in good shape. Whatever happens, or whatever challenge comes on my way, reflecting during a good run always provides me with peace of mind and new forward-oriented energy to go for it. Stress doesn’t even stand a change after a good run, whatever the weather’s like. And now, chasing my 5th out of 6 Marathon Majors (Tokyo is planned for next year), altogether 13 marathons run and nearly 16,000 thousand kilometers later, I feel better than ever and I can only say running changed my life.[/p][p] And it's this feeling that I am passionate about to pass on. Since my first short run back in 2008, I have tried to energize many other people to be more active, without exception as fortunate as I am, being in good shape. But I do realize that not everybody is that privileged, and therefore I love the opportunity offered by London Sport to run the London Marathon 2019 on their behalf and support all the good work they do, as we share the same passion. London Sport enables people to live an active life and lets them experience the power sport has and the benefits it can bring. With your support London Sport will be able to help even more people![/p][p]A big thank you, first of all on behalf of myself. But of course, more importantly on behalf of London Sport and all of its beneficiaries as you can pride yourself of really having contributed to changing people’s lives. [/p][p]About London Sport - Making London the world's #MostActiveCity In 2014, London’s Blueprint for a Physically Active City was launched by a group for organisations who strive for a thriving London. With the support of Sport England, London Councils and the Mayor of London, London Sport was created to help physical activity and sport to work better in London. It was then, that we set the vision for London to become the world’s most physically active city. For more information about London Sport visit www.londonsport.org.[/p][p]What happens with the funds raised? The London Sport 2019 Marathon Team (@RachelRowe, @TomJobson, @AndrewLawton, @KatieLight, @PatrickVierveijzer) will be raising funds to help inactive or less active Londoners in a range of underrepresented communities by developing Disability Champions within local communities to support deaf and disabled Londoners to become more active.
