My story

[p]Since embarking on this I have had knee problems (requiring surgery) however I am still running and will still finish even if it is on all fours!![/p][p]Since starting work for United Response in January 2018 I have been immediately moved by the level of care and dedication that every staff member puts into making the lives of people living with disability better and the continual strive for equality of rights and treatment for the people we support.[/p][vmgvideo class="ql-video" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PnR3at77LSA?showinfo=0&rel=0&iv_load_policy=3" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true"][/vmgvideo][p][br][/p][p] From Care staff though to Divisional managers and even the CEO, Tim, I have seen nothing but determination to champion the rights of Disabled people and improve their lives in a real and meaningful way.[/p][p] Through my work in health and safety I have seen many of the centres, supported living houses and support buildings and have been struck by how hard everyone is working. I have also seen a clear need for more funding and resources – the joy that activities, trips and support to work bring to the people we support is a real privilege to witness – But also knowing how much more we could achieve with better funding and resources.[/p][p] I am running the Great North Run to try and raise some funds for much needed resources to help improve lives further – ranging from activities to craft work.[/p][p] The Bootshop – run by people with disabilities: https://youtu.be/PnR3at77LSA [/p][p] Please help this amazing work – undertaken by some of the most dedicated people I have ever met ..[/p][p] Every Penny will go towards resources and activities for people with physical, mental and learning disabilities and promoting the rights and futures of people affected.[/p][p] Thank you![/p][p] [/p]
