My story

[p]Hello, I am asking you to sponsor me to raise money for Cruse Bereavement care. I will be cycling 5000 miles in total this year as part of the Cycle Weekly 5000 mile challenge , it’s a big challenge for me in terms of time energy and commitment.[/p][p]I am a member of a running club ( although unable to run anymore due to knee injury) and each year we Shelton Striders raise funds for a chosen charity, this year that charity is Cruse Bereavement Care.[/p][p]Why Cruse , obviously with Covid 19 our country with others has suffered massive losses of loved ones, yet when we set this it was for more personal reasons. In 2019 our little running community lost 4 people two due to sudden illnesses, leaving four children without a father and tragically just at the turn of the year two more of running community also died leaving a further five children without a parent.[/p][p]With nine children , friends , family, grandparents all grieving sometimes we feel overwhelmed and at a loss. [/p][p]Two of the children mentioned above have received counselling and parent support from Cruse, by fundraising for Cruse it offers them opportunities now or in the future to also have support all of these children their friends, families, partners now or in the future when they need it. [/p][p]With Covid 19 the need for Cruse bereavement support will be heavy, by helping them we help ourselves and in doing so help others. Wish me luck with this challenge, and thank you in anticipation for your support.[/p][p]Paul[/p][p][br][/p]

Well done Paul! I have enjoyed doing some of the miles with you even the wet and hilly ones. Thanks also to Dave Nunn for the loan of his panniers to help me on my journey! Looking forward to cycling some more miles with you Paul!
