My story

[p]Pedal Paddle Plod 847 Miles in 1 year [/p][p]Starting on 17.01.2021 we will start travelling the equivalent distance of Lands End to John O,Groats over a 12 month period by Cycle Paddle board, or Foot for our local chosen charity:The North Wales Cancer Appeal [/p][p]My name is Phil Thomas and back in 2019 I was told I had kidney cancer. After surgery to remove my right kidney, I then found out the cancer had spread into my lungs. I started Immuno therapy a month later, which I continue to have monthly. [/p][p]The treatment has worked really well and things are great, although it is unlikely the cancer will ever go away, it is stable right now, so it's time to crack on, stay healthy and have fun along the way.[/p][p]My wife Sue and I feel it's time to do something to show our appreciation for all the help and support I've received, so plan to travel 847 miles or 1361km by; bike, paddle board and foot (running) and log our adventures over a 12 month period to raise money for our local charity: The North Wales Cancer Appeal (NWCA) [/p][p]NWCA exists to raise much needed funds to purchase vital equipment for use in the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre.Formerly known as The Ron & Margaret Smith Appeal, since 1991, the Charity has raised just over £3 million, all of which has been used for the purchase of specific and much needed equipment for the benefit of patient’s treatment at The North Wales Cancer Centre. Any donation no matter how big or small would be very gratefully received.[/p][p]You can also follow our progress on Pedal Paddle Plod 874[/p][p]see #mystory on the Facebook page Pedal, Paddle & Plod 874 for more of my story and to follow our travels, with our trusty mascot Bramble [/p]
