My story

[p]Dementia is a topic that is close to home for everyone and is estimated to impact 50 million people worldwide.[/p][p]Having never run more than a few miles on a treadmill and over-indulging all summer this should be challenging as I am aiming to finish in under 2 hours! However I have personally seen the detriment the condition can have on my grandparents and believe the monies raised are going towards a fantastic cause and would be really pleased to be able to have a positive effect on the lives of some who are currently suffering.[/p][p]Arts 4 Dementia are doing some really great work to alleviate some of the suffering and deserve all the support they can get. Your donations will be hugely appreciated by both the charity and those who they are helping.[/p][p]About Arts 4 Dementia [/p][p]A4D offers challenging arts programmes with arts organisations for people in the early stages of dementia. The website provides a unique national mapped listing of arts workshops for people living with dementia enabling them to find local opportunities; and they train arts facilitators from around the country in early-stage dementia awareness. The 700-plus trained to date will deliver arts events to over 14,000 people with dementia and carers in 2019. A4D focuses on what people can achieve, often very much more than they imagine. You can see more about their work and the impact on participants with dementia, carers and volunteers in this short video. [/p]
