[p]I'm running the London Marathon 2020 for Mencap and my severely autistic brother, Adam. [/p][p]They are the Official Charity Partner of the race and I have taken it on myself to run a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD Marathon dressed AS A STAR in less than 4 hours, 5 minutes and 42 seconds. [/p][p]Adam is 26 now and my family have fought hard for him to live a life without boundaries. It's not been an easy journey but he's now settled in a care home in West Wales. [/p][p]He has inspired me to do everything in my life from running to pursuing a career in journalism and I've supported Mencap for many years now.[/p][p]This is because of the amazing work they do in Wales and the rest of the UK to support families like mine to access valuable support and fight for the rights of disabled people. [/p][p]Please consider donating to the amazing charity that will help vulnerable people across Wales and Britain like my brother. Any donations welcome. [/p][p][br][/p][p]Pete and family x[/p][p]------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------[/p][p]Right now, people with a learning disability face inequalities in every area of life with almost 1 in 3 young people with a learning disability spending less than 1 hour outside their home on a typical Saturday. [/p][p]They face barriers finding a job, accessing activities in their local community and receiving good quality healthcare. We tackle these issues head on by providing support in a way that meets individual needs and encourages greater independence. [/p][p]We give expert advice and information that empowers people and their families. And we campaign relentlessly for changes that brings greater equality for people with a learning disability.[/p][p]By supporting Team Mencap you will be helping us to support people with a learning disability to live the life they choose, and do the things they love.[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Mencap. [/p][p]Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. [/p][p]I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
