My story

[lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;]I'm running the Oxford Half Marathon on October 9th 2016 in aid of the Nasio Trust. [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;] [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;]That’s 13.1 miles / 21.1km of pain and abject humiliation through the streets of Oxford (well most of them, anyway – it turns out that 13.1 miles is actually rather a long way.) I’ve been training hard and with a month to go, I can run 12 miles without being pronounced clinically dead… as long as they’re nice flat miles with a comfy sofa and a biscuit at the end.[/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;] [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;]On a (rare) serious note, the Nasio Trust works in deprived rural parts of Kenya (especially areas with high rates of HIV infection), supporting orphaned and vulnerable children in their own communities rather than isolating them in orphanages. The trust provides assistance with healthcare, education, and nutrition. The aim is to break the cycle of poverty by equipping children to grow up with the skills to work and succeed in life, leaving whole communities self-sufficient. More information can be found [url=http://www.thenasiotrust.org/our-work/in-kenya/]here[/url].[/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;] [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;]I would be grateful, honoured, and humbled if you’d consider sponsoring me for this event. Any amount, however small, would be received with huge gratitude, and would directly help to improve the lives of vulnerable children in Kenya.[/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;] [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;]I’ll keep you updated via posts on the blog: [lt]span style="color: #0563c1;"[gt][url=http://thetwistedyarn.com/]www.thetwistedyarn.com[/url][/span][lt]/span[gt][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;] [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;]Thank you.[/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;] [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;]Phil / TheTwistedYarn[lt]span style="margin: 0px;"[gt]  [/span]x[lt]/span[gt][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;] [/span][/p] [lt]p style="margin: 0px;"[gt][span=margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 107%;] [/span][/p]
