My story

13 years ago I was seconded as a Team Leader with The Prince’s Trust Volunteers and this opened my eyes to the difficulties faced by so many young people. As an Ambassador for the Prince’s Trust, it is a privilege to be able to work within the charity and understand more about the core objectives such as practical and financial support, and developing key workplace skills such as confidence and motivation. The Prince’s Trust work with 14 to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. I will be walking the Prince’s Trust mile with Adrian Wheeldon. Adrian has turned his life around. Following a traumatic and difficult childhood, Adrian became addicted to heroin. Eventually, after between 10 and 15 detoxes, Adrian got clean. He met someone from the Prince’s Trust who believed in him and he began believing in himself. With a grant he began to run his own business. Adrian and I hope to promote the possibilities within the Prince’s Trust and hope you will support to deliver more assistance and understanding to thousands.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

Phil is an inspiration and what strikes me is his attempt to highlight the experiences of young people in a positive and participatory way while supporting the work of, and raising money for, these excellent charities.
