My story

I know firsthand the way in which the Back-Up Trust transforms lives after spinal cord injury through their peer-led services which grow confidence and independence. Whilst in the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore I was supported by Elite Wheelchair Athlete, Paula Craig, and if I had not met Paula, I do not think I would have entered the Marathon last year. Spinal Cord Injury is devastating and the Back-Up Trust shows people that life can still be just as fulfilling. I will be walking the Back-Up Trust mile with Ben Sneesby. Ben had neuroblastoma as a baby and developed a tumor on his spinal cord. This means Ben is paralysed from the chest down, but can walk short distances with the aid of sticks. Ben is a great role model for young people and has never let his disability prevent him from pursuing his dreams. I hope that you will support Ben and provide much needed support by donating to the Back-Up Trust and giving other young people the opportunities to live more fulfilling lives.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
