My story

[p]Hello,[/p][p]I'm excited to be running the London Marathon in 2019 for Afasic and would love your support - both financially and in person on the day![/p][p]Why Afasic?[/p][p]Afasic is a UK wide charity, established in 1968, that helps and represents children and young people up to the age of 25, with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), and supports their parents and carers. Over one million children and young people in the UK are affected by this hidden disability and my sister Kate is one of them. Afasic have been instrumental in providing support to my family over the last decade and so it is a privilege to run and raise money for them. [/p][p]Why the London Marathon?[/p][p]My father took me to watch the London Marathon when I was a child. I remember watching the runners go by and thinking "one day I'll run the London marathon". Even since then, it's always been an ambition of mine. Over the last year I have started to run more frequently. In May 2018 I ran my first marathon - the Edinburgh Marathon - and I am looking forward to running London in April 2019. I'll end with a light-hearted quote: "How do you know if someone ran a marathon? Don’t worry, they’ll tell you." - Jimmy Fallon[/p][p][br][/p][p]Thank you for your support, [/p][p]Philip[/p]
