[p]We are excited to let you know that Sue and I are taking part in the nationwide initiative to help save the UK's charities. From 26th April people across the UK will be undertaking a '2.6 challenge' and we have chosen to join the fun and raise desperately needed funds for my local charity Youth Talk. [/p][p]For over 20 years the charity has been offering expert help to young people who are struggling with their mental health and emotional wellbeing - for many young people Youth Talk has been a vital lifeline helping them to get through challenging and troubling times in their lives. However, the charity will this year see a significant fall in its income as so many community fundraising events and other initiatives have had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 crisis. We need to help them continue their vital work.[/p][p]Sue & I have set ourselves a series of challenges for the week starting on Sunday 26th April to raise much needed funds to help Youth Talk provide counselling for 13-25 year old children in the St Albans area. [/p][p]The daily challenges during the week will involve cycling, walking,football, running, playing the saxaphone, Pilates and Zumba![/p][p]DAY 1 SUNDAY 26th APRIL[/p][p]First walk completed - 5.2 miles ie 2 x 2.6 miles each[/p][p]Younger son Lee completed 26 keepy-uppies putting Dad to shame[/p][p]DAY 2 - MONDAY 27th APRIL[/p][p]Phill - 26 minutes Saxaphone[/p][p]DAY 3 - TUESDAY 28th APRIL[/p][p]Phill - 2 x 26 minutes Saxaphone [/p][p]WEDNESDAY 29th APRIL[/p][p]Phill & Sue - 52 minutes Zumba Supposed to be just Sue but I got cajoled into it! Both in Lycra as it was an 80's theme!!![/p][p]Phill - 26.2 miles on road bike around Sandridge, Wheathampstead, Harpenden, Kinsbourn Green, Redbourn, quick visit to Clarence Park ad back home......a bit rainy!![/p][p]THURSDAY 30th APRIL[/p][p]Phill - 52 Minutes Saxaphone[/p][p]FRIDAY 1st MAY[/p][p]Sue - 52 minutes Zumba[/p][p]Phill - 7.32 miles run (3 x 2.6)[/p][p] [/p][p][br][/p]
