My story

[p]I've decided to try and run A LONG WAY to raise as much money as I can for a children's charity called the Superhero Foundation. This charity financially supports treatments for children who require treatment that is not always available on the NHS. It also supports the families of children to take on fundraising challenges of their own to help raise funds.[/p][p]Most who know me will know that I'm NOT a runner. I play loads of netball and I'm really active but I don't run. So this will be a challenge! I'll be running the length of the Cotswold Way 107 miles starting on the 10th May and finishing on the 13th May, with overnight camping stops! [/p][p]Why? Well I think I can run, and therefore think that I should run and try to raise money for those less fortunate in the process. I started to follow the story of Jamie MacDonald (Adventureman) after seeing the story of his run across Canada on the local evening news. Jamie set up this charity and I was just so impressed, inspired and totally motivated by his story. So, I was approaching turning 40 and decided that there was no time like the present to crack on with a challenge, and so enrolled for this event.[/p][p]The training has started..and it is HARD! I had no idea really what I was/am doing. However the blisters, pain, aches, time management aside, the running is good for me and hopefully will be good for others too if I can raise some money. I'm driven completely by the people around me and the people that I meet along the way, i.e. you. So thank you already for being an inspiration, whether you realise it or not. I hope so much that I can do this, I'm going to really really try. [/p]
