My story

[p]On the 5th April 2020 I will be running my first ever marathon just 16mths after starting running at the age of 43. Having spent my 20's and 30's living life to its excesses I was rudely brought back to earth with a stroke which realigned my ambitions and lifestyle choices. After the 6month physical recovery I decided I needed to get more active with Park Run being my first exercise in a long time. 2019 had me taking on several 10k's and even 2 half marathons where I was a proud "Jeffer" but that big one, the 26.2 mile holy grail was calling and in 3 months I hope to complete it whilst raising funds for these 4 great charities.[/p][p]MY CHOSEN CHARITIES [/p][p]Please look up the great work Ben has initiated at the 401 foundation. His charity helps combat bullying and encourage activity for children. His 401 marathons in 401 days was epic and his USA challenge in 2020 is even more extreme and challenging.[/p][p]Endometriosis is a debilitating disease that women suffer from that needs more awareness and funding, my amazing wife is a chronic sufferer and I want to help make strides towards Endometriosis UK's work. [/p][p]Cancer research UK help combat so many of the common and uncommon cancers and everyone has been affected by cancer in some way. Francis Benalis efforts have been inspirational. I have lost far too many family and friends to this horrible disease.[/p][p]Coming from a military family I couldn't miss Help for Heroes in my fundraising as they reach out to the great serving and ex serviceman and woman who have put their lifes on the line to protect us. [/p]
