My story

[p]I set up the Ignite Your Lion Heart challenge after finally committing to tackle some of the things I have considered doing for charity, even since we started fundraising for a range of baby loss charities. I decided its time to just get on with it - but these things are bloody scary to me, and I'd normally avoid at all costs. [/p][p]I will be doing a number of challenges as part of my contribute to the Ignite Your Lion Heart challenge, including:[/p][p]Go Ape - something that terrifies me, I don't like the feeling of not being in control physically, so the movement of the obstacles, will be particularly challenging, as will be at such a height. I don't have a great deal of trust in safety equipment (for no reason) and struggle in environments like this. [/p][p]Walk the O2 - again, a challenge mostly because of height. Something that I've seen others do, and whilst I like the idea, have never felt able to put myself in that position. I've struggled before on the London Eye - I can go on it, but struggle with being near the edge, or walking on or off (despite it moving at a snails pace!)[/p][p]Swim Serpentine - Swim Serpentine is actually something that I've wanted to do for a long time for charity, but have never considered myself a strong enough swimmer. Whilst I am happy swimming, and can swim breaststroke, I've always been a bit uneasy in certain situations, particularly if a loss of control (i.e. getting thrown about etc). I'm training to build my strength and will be doing a few open water swimming sessions before the big day! [/p][p]As my confidence builds, I might be adding more - but please just know these things are already HUGE for me to do, and really require me to push myself physically and mentally. I'd be so apprecaitive of any support you can offer. [/p][p]For those that have already followed our story, you will know how important Tommy's is to us. They have supported us since our son Leo was stillborn in 2016, in assessing his postmortem, sharing his story and looking after his little brother during his pregnancy. Its really such an honour to be able to give back to such an important charity. [/p][p]Many, many thanks. [/p][p]Jess [/p]
