My story

[p]Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Captain Tom 100 challenge.[/p][p]On March 27th an 11 year old boy called Max Woosey from Devon completed a whole year sleeping outside in a tent. Max had lost a friend through cancer, this friend gave him a tent and told Max to “ have an adventure”. Lockdown hit so the adventure began and ended in Max’s garden a year later. On Max’s final night he encouraged other children around the world to take part in a "big camp out" to raise money for a Cancer Hospice. That night I decided to join the "big camp out" and I slept out under the stars in just a bivvy bag with a tarpaulin (a basha) over head. One night turned into a few nights and when I heard about the #CaptainTom100 challenge I decided to take it on.[/p][p]Friday 30 April would have been Captain Sir Tom Moore's 101st birthday and the one-year anniversary of his famous 100 laps of his garden that raised an incredible £38.9 million for the NHS. Captain Tom's family have pledged to celebrate his life with an event that everyone, in the UK and around the world, could get involved in. That event is #CaptainTom100[/p][p]So here is my challenge. 100 nights outside on my own, no tent, just a bivvy bag. Some nights my little brother or friends will join me but mainly it's just me. So far it's rained, snowed, reached -4 degrees below zero on many nights and I've woken up with an icy woolly hat. I'm due to finish on July 4th when hopefully it will be a bit warmer![/p][p]I’m very excited about my “100 challenge” adventure and I hope I can inspire other children, like Max and Captain Tom have inspired me.[/p][p]Thank you for your support[/p][p]From Archie- aged 8[/p][p][br][/p]
