My story

[p]Thank you for visiting Protect's’s page for the London Legal Sponsored Walk 2019. This year some of our team will be running the 10km so please give generously![/p][p]Team walkers:- Laura Fatah, Jon Cunningham, Dugald Johnson, Bob Matheson, Fred Banks, Nneka Egbuji, Elizabeth Gardener, Mark Thomas, Ida Nowers, Mary Spinocchia, Lou O'Neill, Francesca West, Hari Raithatha, Kushi Gujral, Frances Steele, Andrew Pepper-Parsons, Cathy James, David Widdowson, Karen Jordan, and Alexander Gardiner.[/p][p]Established in 1993 as PCaW, Protect seeks to protect society by promoting workplace whistleblowing. At the heart of what we do is our free, confidential whistleblowing advice line open to all UK workers. Our advice focuses on both the practical and legal implications of whistleblowing - empowering individuals to report concerns whilst minimising any risk to their employment.[/p][p]We campaign to encourage workplace culture where people can voice their concerns at the earliest opportunity without fear of reprisal, despite our best efforts, there is still work much to be done. Too often we hear of whistleblowers being mistreated. In these situations access to expert advice is crucial and individuals who speak to PCaW at the earliest opportunity report better outcomes, for both their personal employment position and the concern itself.[/p][p]To date we have helped over 20,000 whistleblowers and this year we have seen a 20% increase in safeguarding cases. These often harrowing calls concern some of the most vulnerable people in society: children; the elderly; people with disabilities. We are currently running at a deficit and need your support more than ever so we can continue to provide our vital service.[/p][p]Please give generously to support whistleblowers, protect the public interest and encourage the team (who are woefully short of exercise)![/p][p]Advice line client responses:[/p][p]"Your services were absolutely brilliant. Your advice was fantastic. Thank you very much for being there."[/p][p]"I think the charity was fantastic...I'm so pleased that I stumbled across it."[/p][p]All funds raised by our team will go to Public Concern at Work and ensure that we can continue proiding free legal advice to whistleblowers in 2019 and beyond![/p][p]Many thanks for your support![/p]
