Team story

[p]‘RIGHT TO ROAM’ / ‘END TO END’ WALK FOR PALESTINE[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]Raising funds for education and play projects in Gaza.  This website is to donate to the Sheffield Palestine Women's Scholarship Fund.  Information about the Scholarship Fund can be found on the main Sheffield Palestine Women's Scholarship Fund Virgin Money Giving website.[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]The Right to Roam Walk for Palestine:  In Britain, as in many other countries, people have had to struggle for the Right to Roam, the right to walk, to wander across the land. I started out on my Right to Roam walk in May 2013, following the 268 miles of the Pennine Way from Edale, over Kinder Scout, the site of the historic Kinder Trespass, to Kirk Yethom just over the Scottish borders.  We continued our Right to Roam / End2End walk for Palestine the following year, walking from Land’s End to Bristol, & then Bristol to Edale, to complete the ‘England’ section of our walk. In 2015 we walked the first section our Scottish section of the walk, from Kirk Yetholm, 287 miles, via Fort William, to Morvich. [lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]The walk so far has covered over 1,000 miles – a stark contrast to harsh severe restrictions of movement for all Palestinians to, from and within Palestine, and in particular the harsh restrictions, attacks and siege of 1.8 m people within the narrow 26 mile Gaza Strip.  We have been raising funds for the Palestine Women's Scholarship Fund and for children's projects in Gaza.[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]I am walking the final section of our ‘End2End’ Right2Roam Walk for Palestine, walking 209 miles from Morvich to John-o-Groats this Spring, aiming to reach John-o-Groats on Saturday 21 May.  I will be camping most of the way.  Many wonderful friends and supporters have joined me all along the route, some for large sections.[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]If you would like more information about the walk, please go to: www.sheffieldpsc.org.uk and click on Right2Roam Walk.  This will also tell you about the simutaneous walks happening in Gaza on the same day as we reach John-o-Groats - raising the Palestinian flag on top of the beacon at Duncansby Head, at the furthest NE point of the UK mainland.[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]Thank you for supporting the Sheffield Palestine Women's Scholarship Fund.[/p]
