Team story

[p] [/p][p][span=color: #ff0000;]Many thanks to everyone who supported/ sponsored myself and Chris on the Race. We both new it was going to be an epic-being the only ocean sea kayak in the race (30kg heavier than the K2). It was hard work maintaining 4 miles an hour and after 63 portages and 69miles totalling 16 hours and 43mins of non stop paddling Chris's back gave in and it would of been silly to go any further. We are very rightly proud of our achievement and hopefully you will continiue to support us in this sponsorship. If you do feel that you want your money back I can arrange through the three charities to re-emburse you.[/span][/p][p][span=color: #ff0000;]Thanks again Soapy and Chris.[/span][/p][p]Hi and Many Thanks for selecting my webpage.[/p][p]Just to let you know that myself and friend Chris Stephenson (First Royal Navy MCD on EOD duties in Afganisatan 2010) are doing the Devizes to Westminster Bridge Canoe Race 2012 in a two man Kayak. The plan is to paddle constantly 126 miles along the Kennet and Avon Canal and Thames to finish at Westminster Bridge. It is a challange I have always wanted to do- and determined to complete it in or around 24 hours.[/p][p]The  three charities I have choosen are all very worthy causes and I intend to make an even third split with them on the kind donations I receive.[/p][p]Charity One is The Vernon Monument Project- this charity is raising money to erect a monument on the site of the Old Home of Diving and Minewarfare HMS VERNON- now Gunwharf Quays. The monument will be erected in the basin there. We have raised already £100,000 so far and are nearly half way to the £250,000. This will celebrate the dangerious tasks that our RN Divers and Minewarefares have done in the past such as Second World War, Suez, Falklands, Gulf War 1991, Iraq and Afganistan-to name a few.[/p][p]Charity Two is the Naomi House Hospice which looks after very sick children who are critically ill and will not see adult life and so they look after the children making their lives as comfortable and happy in their pain.[/p][p]Charity Three is the The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Website- something of course very close to me which supports the Navy Family serving and retired in times of heart ache and crisis.[/p][p]May I thank you in advance for your very kind contribution (however small)[/p][p] [/p][p]May see you along the way.[/p][p] [/p][p]Kind Regards[/p][p] [/p][p]Soapy and Chris [/p]
