My story

[p]PARIS / BRIGHTON / LONDON MARATHONS #3marathons3weeks APRIL 2018[/p][p]It's been a while since I set myself a challenge. After chatting to my cousin a little too competitively about our parkrun PB times, we got into a silly conversation about "what is your fastest 10km? " which led on to "what is your fastest marathon time?" Stupidly I somehow ended up agreeing to run the Brighton Marathon on 15 April 2018.[/p][p]Then sadly a friend got sick and was diagnosed with a rare disease, I thought what can I do to help? We used to run together after our long 12 hour shifts; chatting and motivating each other when the last thing we wanted to do was run in the dark when we were both completely shattered. So running seemed to make sense as a way to support her; doing something we had both enjoyed together. So I signed up for the Paris marathon on 08 April and soon realised that I would be running two marathons on two consecutive Sundays in April. Then an amazing opportunity came up to support the Saracens Sport Foundation to run the London Marathon on 22 April and so 2 in 2, became 3 in 3. This challenge is easy in comparison to what my friend is going through. [/p][p]As with all my crazy challenges, I will be supported by Ruth Ainley (the official R2) who is also running Paris and raising money for a friend of hers who is also going through a life-changing time. For Brighton, I will be trying to keep up with my cousin Leeb. For London, R2 is back and we are joined by Helen Killner who only started running in Summer 2017.[/p][p]I am raising money for two charities - the Saracens Sport Foundation which changes the lives of people (from school age to older adults) through sport, and the Matt Hampson Foundation who's motto "Get Busy Living" emulates everything my friend does.... it will motivate me through the long runs. [/p][p]Long training runs (not including those in the week)[/p][p]Watford Half Marathon - completed 04 February 2018 (PB)[/p][p]Junior parkrun + 15 miles - completed[/p][p]Junior parkrun + 16 miles - completed[/p][p]Gade Valley 17 mile training run - completed on 25 February 2018[/p][p]Bath Half Marathon - CANCELLED - did back to back gym sessions followed by 13.1 miles on a treadmill[/p][p]Harpenden Half Marathon (very muddy) and a run/walk 3 miles[/p][p]Oakley 20 - CANCELLED - did 22km out in the snow then 10km on the treadmill[/p][p]Paris Marathon - 08 April- 4:04:40 PB[/p][p]Brighton Marathon - 15 April - 4:22:38 - ran with my amazing cousin Leeb[/p][p]London Marathon - 22 April - 4:07:11 fastest London time[/p]
