My story

[p]Well despite having said I wouldn’t run another marathon, I’ve been given a fantastic opportunity and was too excited to turn it down. I’m delighted that I will be running the London Marathon on Sunday 28th April on behalf of the Caldecott Foundation – an incredible children’s charity and one which has a very special place in my heart. [/p][p]Having worked for the Caldecott Foundation myself, I am aware of the invaluable difference that the charity makes to disadvantaged young people who really deserve a better chance at life – leading the way in therapeutic residential care, education and foster care for the UK’s most vulnerable children. The Caldecott Foundation supports traumatised young people to come to terms with their experiences by providing a safe environment for children who, in many cases, have suffered extreme abuse and neglect. For each child in its care, the Caldecott Foundation tailors a therapeutic programme of recovery – emphasising the importance of developing positive, reparative relationships between staff and young people based on trust, respect and predictability. The Caldecott Foundation believes that children should not be defined by their past, but with the right care and support, every child can build a positive future. And every penny that the Caldecott Foundation receives helps this vital work to continue.[/p][p] So I will be trying to get round 26.2 miles again. I am hoping that all the hours of training and effort might encourage those that know me, and maybe some that don’t, to donate to my appeal. Whatever we can raise, it will spur me on each mile. Thank you so much, Rachel [/p][p]Thankyou so much,[/p][p]Rachel[/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
