Team story

[p]UPDATE:- We did it!!! Thanks to your supportive messages and kind donations, Monday saw Rachel spending a gruelling (and unseasonably cold) night outdoors and Mischa completing her 30km challenge to raise money for the Emergency Advice Appeal. Thank you all for your support, we appreciate every penny.[/p][p]Mischa & Rachel :)[/p][p]***********************************************************************************************************************[/p][p]We are passionate about supporting the provision of pro bono (free) legal advice. The current Pandemic threatens the sustainability of the already fragile sector and the demand on services has changed in a way that no one could have anticipated. It is essential that those most vulnerable in society are able to access legal advice and that the organisations who offer this advice are able to keep going.[/p][p]The Access to Justice Foundation has set up an Emergency Advice Appeal to raise funds for clinics and other organisations providing free legal advice. [/p][p]In order to support this worthy cause, we have thought about ways in which we can fundraise in a socially-distant way and have come up with a somewhat unusual idea…[/p][p]Rachel has agreed to spend the night (9:00pm – 6:00am) on Monday 11th May camping in her son’s Wendy house – see picture below! Those who know Rachel are aware that she is not a massive fan of the ‘great outdoors’ in particular, camping, mud and bugs, so it will be a real challenge![/p][p]Alongside this, Mischa will be running/ walking the distance of three ‘Legal Walks’ – 30km over the course of 3 days (9-11th May)[/p][p]Any sponsorship would be greatly appreciated. Throughout the walks and camp, we will be updating everyone on our progress on our Birmingham Pro Bono Network Twitter page (@BrumProBono). Do feel free to check in on us. We will need the support![/p][p]Rachel & Mischa[/p]
