[p]Hi! [/p][p]Thank you for visiting our page raising money to rebuild Antarastriya Yuwa Barsa Secondary School, Ramechhap following the April 2015 earthquake.[/p][p]Since 2015 we have been amazed and encouraged by the support and commitment of so many helping to raise money including:[/p][p]Dr Lynne Bianchi, from the University of Manchester who helped us bring The Great Science Share to Nepal with the help of staff and children from The Derby High School in Bury.[/p][p]the Drop off Cafe in Edenfield who held a Nepali evening for us in November 2018[/p][p]The Norwich School 6th Form who chose Rebuilding Schools Nepal as their Lent Term Dinner Charity this year and donated £2287.44, thank you so much![/p][p]schools who joined our 40 schools fundraising challenge[/p][p]Prestolee Primary School in Bolton for their Talent Show fundraising[/p][p]St Charles RC Primary School in Salford for their Year 5 fundraising[/p][p]Harrop Fold in Salford for their fundraising afternoon tea[/p][p]The Eden Singers for their wonderful concert on 8th October 2017 in Bolton[/p][p]the walkers (28!) who successfully completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on Saturday 25th June 2016, thank you all for your amazing support![/p][p]the Coast to Coast Cycle team of 20 riders who have also done an amazing job fundraising for our school[/p][p]Your donations are lodged with our UK based partner charity Love Nepal. All of the money goes directly to supporting the school, there are no paid UK staff, we are all volunteers. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]We first visited this school whilst trekking in the region in April 2015 before the earthquakes and talked with the inspiring headteacher Kamal Bikram with whom we are in regular contact. You can see a slide show about the project at www.rebuildingschoolsnepal.org We visit the school every 18 months, review progress, discuss and agree where we can most usefully support next.[/p][p]To date funds allocated include:[/p][p]£1500 to re-establish a safe drinking water supply for the school for the first time since the earthquakes, this was our priority[/p][p]£1200 for stationary and books for children over the last 3 years[/p][p]£4500 for toilets [/p][p]£1000 waterproof ruck sacks so the children can carry their books to and from school (they walk along way!)[/p][p]£50.00 cricket bats and balls, and chess sets[/p][p]£500 a computer, projector and screen for group teaching[/p][p]Our next target is to fund new equipment for a science lab, library and computer suite. We still want to develop resources to enable children to study for their +2s (A level equivalent) which will enable them to go on to study for professions.[/p][p]Do see www.helenmgconsulting.com/rebuildingschoolsnepal for more information[/p]
