Cardiff Half Marathon

[p]Men's mental health issues have very recently grown in awareness, giving an amazing amount of support to men from all walks of life. However even with this recent surge in support, men in abusive relationships are still laughed at or looked down upon all around the world.[/p][p]ManKind initiative offer a helpline for men who are in abusive relationships (often with kids involved) 24/7, but are given no government funding and rely solely on donations from the public to run their helpline. As I'm sure many of you know, abuse in relationships does not have to be physical, but can be mental as well, with social isolation (restriction of friends) and emotional abuse being extremely common, and is inherently difficult to speak to friends or family about, so a helpline like this is can act as that helping hand to talk to.[/p][p]With over 145,000 cases reported in the UK alone in 2017, this amazing charity with so little awareness is helping overcome the stigma that men cannot be subject to domestic abuse.[/p][p]I hope you can share and donate to this charity whilst I take on the Cardiff Half Marathon - normally I suit water sports so this will be no mean feat - and grow the awareness that is needed for male domestic abuse victims to get the support they need.[/p]
