My story

[p]What can I say about Tony "A truly amazing guy" just does not do him justice. If there is one thing Tony loves it is a challenge. You may recall a few years back Tony walked from Reading to Shenfield in 3 days covering 88.4 miles following the route of the upcoming Elizabeth Line train service visiting 38 of the 41 Stations along the way. [/p][p]Over the 30 days of September, Tony will take One Million Steps to raise money for Havering Samaritans. [/p][p]He will need to take on average 33,000 steps a day to complete this mammoth task [/p][p]Tony will keep track of his progress via a FitBit (donated by his Employer) which is connected to his mobile phone and updates will be posted on this Page and via Yammer for staff within TfL Rail community.[/p][p] During the month Tony will arrange a few days where people can join him on one of his many walks around Dagnam Park [/p][p] (Car Park entrance from Settle Road, RM3 9YA) [/p][p] Dates TBC - these events will comply with social distancing rules at the time [/p][p] Whilst training in the park, Tony met with one of Havering Samaritan’s volunteers and had this to say with regards to his much loved charity:[/p][p] [/p][p] “The volunteers at Havering Samaritans do such an important job in providing emotional support”,[/p][p] [/p][p] “Their work can only continue by the generosity of the public”.[/p][p] [/p][p] If you would like to speak to a volunteer[/p][p] You can call Samaritans free on 116 123[/p][p] Or e-mail jo@samaritans.org[/p][p][br][/p][p]UPDATE: great first day to get the ball rolling keep up the good work Tony [/p][p] [/p][p] [/p]
