My story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]I am embarking on two running events next year;the first being the london marathon, the second is a 100km ultra-marathon known as Race to the Stones starting in Lewknor, Oxfordshire all the way to Avebury in the north Wessex Downs.[/p][p]The reason!!! In memory of our two boys Jack and Freddie, whom Emily and I lost to Spina bifida and Hydrocephalus in 2006 and 2008. At the time there were very few places where we could turn to for help and support in understanding more about both conditions.[/p] [p]I am raising money for the Brain and Spine Foundation; a wonderful charity who support sufferers and families affected by neurological and spinal conditions.[/p] [p]There are 350 different conditions of the brain and spine and together they affect more than 10 million people in the UK. These conditions affect both children and adults and in many cases have long term impacts without the prospect of a cure. Neurological conditions and associated treatments are often complex and poorly understood by those affected and their families. [/p] [p]Their phone line is manned by neuroscience nurses who can answers questions and provide emotional support.[/p] [p]The Brain and Spine Foundation exists to provide this information and to be there during diagnosis, treatments and in the longer term, to answer questions and provide support throughout a patient's journey. We are the only UK wide charity providing support on the full range of neurological conditions.[/p] [p]The charity receives no government funding and is entirely funded by voluntary donations. [/p] [p]I would love your support! [/p][p]Ricky[/p][p]x[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
